EvoATM project will model ATM system in the Free Route scenario, combining the agent based paradigms with evolutionary computing to understand the influence of ATM components parameters on the behaviours at single component at whole system performances level. By using and quantitative indicators, EvoATM will open the way to more efficient change impact assessment, supporting design and strategic thinking in ATM evolution.
EvoATM achievements will increase cost-effectiveness of innovation in ATM, bringing societal benefits such an increased flight predictability and efficiency or a reduction of environmental impact of air transport industry.
Change Impact Assessment
EvoATM will adopt sensitivity analysis strategies to understand the influence of ATM components parameters on the behaviours and performances at component level (i.e., influences on other components) and at system level
Support to Design
EvoATM will build a framework to better understand and model how architectural and design choices influence the ATM system and its behaviours, and vice versa how the expected ATM overall performances drive the design choices
Support to Strategic Thinking
EvoATM will deliver a suitable modelling paradigm to represent the components of the Free Route ATM environment against the services they provide and their interdependencies
