EvoATM project has received funding from the SESAR Joint Undertaking with grant agreement No 783189 under European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
EVOAtm project will provide a proof of concept to support:
- the assessment of the impact of a change to an ATM subsystem
- the design of the change to make to an ATM subsystem
- the support to strategic thinking by identifying which subsystem should be modified
The impact assessment is made on the basis of the evaluation of identified KPIs before and after the change. The support to design is made on the basis of the identification of the optimal design solution that satisfies the expected KPIs. The identification of which subsystem should be modified is made understanding which is the subsystem mostly affecting the current performances. The project develops the proof of concept modelling the direct routing subsystem during the execution phase. All the evaluations are made exercising the built model by simulation. The scientific approaches that are addressed to achieve the above objectives are:
- Agent based modelling
- Agent based evolutionary optimization problem
- Statistical analysis
The EvoATM consortium involves a multidisciplinary group of experts representing the different expertise classes: complex systems modelling, evolutionary computing, ATM modelling, human aspects, aerospace engineering, verification and validation. The chosen Advisory Board will guarantee the coordination/dialogue with the impacted stakeholders domains: ASDA (Association for the Scientific Development of ATM in Europe), ENAV (Italian air navigation service provider), EUROCONTROL, LEONARDO (Italian industry).
